Course of activity

Part A: Planning activities for kindergarten children 45 min

Students will plan an activity session for kindergarten children that includes demonstrations and exercises showing correct body movements as well as building a "trick arm" (see resources) - a toy made of jumbo lollipop sticks and paper fasteners which demonstrates the movements of the joints.

Part B: Activity session with kindergarten children 45 min

Students go out with the kindergarten children to an open space and instruct them at activity stations, according to what they planned. The activities should include guided physical exercises that incorporate knowledge learned during the Scenario:

  • Exercises learned with the occupational therapist and during science lessons
  • Construction of a "trick arm"
  • Optional - During the physical exercises, the movement of the joints and muscles can be compared to other types of mechanisms (such as the hinge of a door, a bearing of a wheel, etc.)
